Current Solar Potential

Solar PV potential for each county seat in Colorado is displayed below. This potential data was calculated with PV Watts Version II. A full description of PV Watts Version II is available online. The PV system modeled was 1kW in size, with a fixed tilt angle.

CEP reports solar PV development potential through mesoscale mapping as well as point source data for each county seat in Colorado. Colorado mesoscale mapping The PV solar modeling was gathered by CEES researchers via PV WATTS II, and the base map is from SB91. PV Watt's version II has been run for all Colorado County seats enabling the user to see what the potential generation of a PV system in their county would produce. This modeling was done with a 1 kW sized unit making the output easily scalable. For example if a user was interested in a 5 kW sized PV system one would multiple the results by 5.
